What is the Tackle Advocacy Process?
1 – Let’s Talk
It is important to know your child’s educational rights. We will have a free initial consultation to discuss basic information about your child, learn about your child’s strengths and weaknesses and discuss how Tackle Advocacy can help support you and your child.
2 – Record Review
You will send me all of your child’s educational records, including testing, report cards, work samples, progress reports and special education documents. I will review all of this pertinent information and create an Action Plan which outlines short-term and long-term objectives that meet the individual needs of your student.
3 – Meet & Discuss
We will meet in person or by phone to discuss the Action Plan I have created and discuss any questions or concerns that have arisen from my deep dive into your child’s educational records. It is important to remember that all children have the right to a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
4 – Next Steps
All children deserve to be challenged while also having their individual needs met in school. We will work together to ensure that the unique learning needs of your child are met. This could include writing a letter to your child’s school requesting testing or services, accompanying you to parent/teacher conferences, accompanying you to an IEP or 504 meeting, and/or coordinating needed outside services for your child. Each child is different so the next steps for each child will be different.
